Title Restraint
This work describes ambivalent attachment.
One figure is reaching out, while the second pushes away. There is restraint, a bandaged foot and a skewer. The thread on the face suggests a zip, mute. The barbs are around the figures as well as bars on the periphery. As a child, I experienced a hospital admission with separation from my parents.
Allowing various threads to develop in varying media, making and re-making, is productive and deepens engagement. I will revisit the 2D projects with clay and take forward this way of evolving work during the making, with an emphasis on initial exploration and play.
