Title: ‘On Having An Outside’
The womb is the point in the human life where everything is on the outside, all there is is the umbilical cord connecting to the outside world.
The human mind withholds so much emotion and information, so does the depths of the universe. What is inside is what we have on the outside, similarly what we know is what we have. The unknown remains the same.
Inspired by Ben Nicolson’s work ‘The Head’ which depicts the confusion inside, the print is mesmerising, the choice of single colour; the simplicity; the strong momentum. Jenny Saville’s ‘Bleach’ shows her ideas of observations she made while watching the face, the flesh tones, the scars which speak about the outside and how it affects the inside.
“I am glad to say that I have been able to narrow down to a few areas of interest to explore and study deeply further. The quality of my work has gone upscale too. I am honestly proud of what I have achieved in the journey and at the same time learning a lot of new things too.”
