Title Reflections of An Artist
The painting considers how an artist perceives and interprets themselves based on their appearance, and how that connects to their being. The different versions of myself represent me in similar yet in different styles. Me as I am, me with how I feel I am perceived, me in a realm of my own creation, and finally as how I see my inner self. The inspirations were Tanya Shatseva and her use of colours and adding symbolic images to her paintings and how she's full of “whimsical concepts”. Also Andy Warhol's composition and his print making artworks. The same image repeated over again but in a different way is what I wanted to convey. Though in Andy’s work “Shot Marilyns”, the colours and repetition conveys her "dynamism and emphasises her impact”. I wanted to show the same person in differing dynamics/perspectives.
