Title: The Other Woman
A distillation of the experiences of twelve years of dancing Argentine tango. At the very start of the evening before people arrive, the night is unknown, full of expectation. The composition, limited colour palette, and symbolic nature of the chair increases the drama of expectancy in the painting.
“People comment “sometimes you are like a completely different woman”… Sometimes we need help to change our choice of [being] perceived outside. It is a slow process. There is ambiguity, I like this.”
The painting is the basis for a series, this being number 1.
