Title Festival
A celebration of summer and the joy that a festival and the transformation, joy, playfulness and creativity it can bring to a natural, still and quiet environment.
Reflecting on the colour of nature, the work conveys how we ‘see’ the natural colour palette and how this is transformed for a moment in time. We see the unexpected within the expected. Placing my image was something considered as it is very personal to me. The work encompasses the boundary of the festival and the actual festival map within the collage showing the detail of the map through the ink. The colours are a representation of the green / blue colours of where the festival is held. Masking tape represents the temporary nature of the boundary.
To extend my research further I hope to recreate the image in oil paint and explore how the image can be recreated using a different media and explore the relationship of paint, colour and collage.
