Title Parade of Fortunate & Unfortunate Hats I Wear
What if places and objects have thoughts, feelings, senses, characters and roles?
I am an experimental artist who is using traditional mediums and unconventional and recyclable materials. I enjoy painting, printmaking, photography, and love creating collages. My interests lay in observation of how things are connected and form the space where they happily coexist, creating harmony. The use of forms, lines and colours that I choose very often give rise to a narrative element and often my work has a surrealist and poetic feel.
My latest theme is interconnections between surroundings and oneself. I explore the connections between inner landscape and exterior. My Term 3 final work is a mixed media collage. I am aiming to describe one’s overcomplicated existence and a feeling of being lost in this complex world. To achieve this I overlay images, use negative spaces as a part of disjoint and fragmented composition. There is no single point of perspective in this piece as I believe we perceive the world by looking and moving, zooming in and out. To give an emotional contrast I use bright colours against monochromatic images. The collage is created on a wooden panel, which overall gives this piece a warm and united look.
